Sheriff's Office Arrests Registered Sex Offender For Parole Violation

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office says a registered sex offender who is accused of violating the conditions of his parole on child pornography charges has been arrested.

Investigators say 25-year-old Michael Muschick was captured at a house on Pittsburgh's North Side Friday.

According to the sheriff's office, Muschick was charged with 13 counts of Photograph/Film/Depict On Computer Sex Act-Child in June of 2009. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was then placed on probation/parole.

Authorities say Muschick is accused of obtaining access to the Internet, which violated the conditions of that parole.

Investigators say Muschick was taken into custody Friday afternoon at a home on Bascom Avenue on the North Side.

The sheriff's office reports that deputies first went to Muschick's address listed under his sexual offender requirements, but learned there that he was not home.

They then went to the Bascom Avenue address where authorities say Muschick "was attempting to pretend that the house was unoccupied by refusing to answer the door."

Officials report that Muschick finally came out of the home when deputies told him they planned to enter the house by force.

He was then arrested without further incident.

Muschick is being held without bond at the in the Allegheny County Jail.
