Pirates Make Two Minor League Deals
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pirates signed two players to minor league contracts Tuesday: first baseman Jeff Clement and right-handed pitcher Ryota Igarashi.
Both contracts include invitations to spring training.
Clement, 28, hit .271 with five home runs last season in the Pirates organization. He spent a considerable amount of the year rehabbing from surgery on his left knee.
Igarashi, 32, made 45 appearances with the New York Mets last season and recorded a 4-1 record with a 4.66 ERA.
