Pitcairn Police Make Arrest In Pizza Shop Robbery

PITCAIRN (KDKA) -- Pitcairn police say they have now made an arrest in connection with a robbery at a pizza shop earlier this week.

The robbery happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox's Pizza Den on Broadway Avenue.

According to the police chief in Pitcairn, a woman called into the police department Thursday after seeing the surveillance video from the shop on television.

The surveillance footage showed the suspect - who was dressed in red sweatpants and a Steelers' hat - walk into the business, walk back out and then shows him come back a second time with his hood up, showing a gun and demanding money.

The police chief says the tip led to the arrest of Patrick McQuade on Thursday night at his apartment in Turtle Creek.

Police say McQuade told officers that he was sorry for the robbery while he was being taken into custody.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 2.
