1 In Custody, 3 Wounded In Overnight Bar Shooting

HOMESTEAD (KDKA) -- A Penn Hills man is facing charges following a fight and shooting incident that left three people injured overnight at a bar in Homestead.

Allegheny County police say the shooting happened around 12:15 a.m. at the Ragtime Saloon on Amity Street near East 8th Avenue.

According to investigators, 43-year-old Keith Walker was arrested at the scene and is now facing three counts of aggravated assault and one count of attempted homicide in connection with the incident.

Police say the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation.

Police also say that they don't believe a large number of shots were fired during the incident, "possibly as few as one, and only fired by one person."

"When officers entered into the bar, they discovered the actor and another person fighting on the ground - fighting, struggling with a gun in their hand," said Chief Jeff DeSimone, of the Homestead Police Department.

Allegheny County police say they believe there is surveillance video from inside the bar that will help in the investigation.

Even with possibly only one shot being fired, Chief DeSimone says that one man was grazed in the head by a bullet, and was possibly the intended target.

A woman was shot in her thigh and was last listed in serious condition this morning. Another man, who was shot in the arm, appears to have been hit while trying to stop the argument.

Both men were treated and released from the hospital.

"At least two of the victims were kind of like collateral damage," Chief DeSimone said. "They just... wrong place, wrong time."

Walker was being held at the Allegheny County Jail while he awaits arraignment.
