Attorney Asks Judge To Hold Fitzgerald In Contempt

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There's another twist in the saga of Allegheny County's reassessments.

Don Driscoll, the attorney representing the homeowners who sued to have the reassessments, asked Judge R. Stanton Wettick to hold Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald in contempt of court.

On Thursday, Fitzgerald held a press conference and told homeowners who received their 2012 reassessments to throw them out, calling them null and void.

Judge Wettick, responding to Driscoll's motion, said: "I'll address everything on Tuesday."

Earlier today, Wettick said that the court ruling tells the City of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Public School District that they are barred from setting millage and calculating taxes for this year unless they use the 2012 assessment numbers.
