PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Jordan Staal will be out of the Penguins’ lineup tonight when the New Jersey Devils skate into CONSOL Energy Center.

Staal was injured Friday night against the New York Rangers in a knee-on-knee collision with former Penguin Mike Rupp late in the game.

He left and didn’t return to the game, which the Penguins lost 3-1.

According to the Penguins’ website, Pens’ head coach Dan Bylsma said there is no update yet as it is “too early to tell the significance of the injury.”

Bylsma said they will move Pascal Dupuis to center to take Staal’s place.

The Penguins and Devils face off at 7 p.m.
