Wheeling Nailers Up For Sale
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL have been put up for sale.
The Nailers are the Pittsburgh Penguins' ECHL minor league affiliate.
The sale could affect the Penguins. If the Nailers were to move far away, the Penguins could look elsewhere for an ECHL affiliate.
"We're hopeful that there's a local owner who would keep the team there," Penguins vice president Tom McMillan told the Post-Gazette's Shelly Anderson Wednesday.
