Pirates, McGehee Schedule Arbitration Date
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Pirates and third baseman Casey McGehee set an arbitration hearing for Feb. 16 on Thursday.
If the two sides can't agree on a contract by that time, McGehee will see an arbitrator to determine his worth.
McGehee reportedly wants a salary around $2.7 million, but the Pirates are more interested in a lower number. He made $468,000 last year with the Milwaukee Brewers.
McGehee was acquired from the Brewers for relief pitcher Jose Veras. He batted .223 last year with 13 home runs and 67 RBIs.
