Westminster Best Of Breed Winner Lives In W. Pa.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One the nation's Best of Breed at the annual Westminster Dog Show lives right here in our area.

Kato is a four-year-old Hungarian Vizsla. He spends half of his time in Ford City and the other half in Murrysville.

Sue Lonabaugh, one of Kato's owners, says the honor is like winning the Super Bowl for dogs.

Lonabaugh and the dog's handler, Corinne Miklos, share custody of Kato. They spoke to KDKA Radio Wednesday morning and say the prized pooch comes from royalty.

"His mother won best of breed and his grandmother won best of breed twice at Westminster," she said.

Kato stands tall in all his glory. He has a short-coat that makes him easy to groom. He's a natural hunter, loyal companion and takes winning seriously.

"He is actually the No. 1 Vizsla in America," Lonabaugh said.

Kato has defeated some 8,000 to 9,000 dogs in one year and he beat 2,100 other dogs for Best of Breed honors at Westminster.
