Pregnant Woman Killed, 4 Others Injured In Beaver Co. Crash

HANOVER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A woman - nine months pregnant - was killed and two children were injured when another driver lost control and hit her vehicle in Beaver County.

Her unborn baby also died.

Pennsylvania State Police say Renee Todd, 35, of East Liverpool, Ohio, hit an icy section of State Route 30 in Hanover Township while traveling east at about 7:35 a.m. Friday.

Todd's Plymouth Neon went into oncoming traffic, hitting the front of the deceased victim's Pontiac GG. The pregnant woman was in the passenger seat.

The 34-year-old Clinton man driving the Pontiac was injured.

An 11-year-old girl in the backseat sustained what State police described as a major injury. A 15-year-old boy in the backseat behind the driver suffered a moderate injury.

Todd, who was wearing a seatbelt, also had moderate injuries.

The 35-year-old pregnant woman has not been identified. State police say no one in the victim's car wore a seatbelt.

KDKA's Jon Greiner reports that water is running from an old driveway onto Route 30 and that apparently caused icy conditions this morning.

PennDOT is working on the side of the road trying to keep the water from reaching the road.
