Man Dead, Woman Injured In McKeesport Double Shooting

McKEESPORT (KDKA) -- Police are investigating an overnight double shooting in McKeesport that claimed one man's life and sent a woman to the hospital.

Officials say about two dozen rounds were fired in the parking lot of the Highview Gardens Apartment complex on Coursin Street around 2 a.m.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 23-year-old Arron Grable of Clairton. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The woman who was injured during the incident remains hospitalized today. There is no word on her identity, but she was reportedly alert and conscious in the hospital.

Sources tell KDKA's Heather Abraham that police were looking into whether a deadly car accident could possibly have be related to the shooting.

Just minutes after the shooting, emergency crews rushed to an accident on Fifth Avenue just about a mile from the scene of the shooting. A car smashed into a metal utility pole.

A passenger was taken to the hospital with a broken leg and the driver was killed. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner has identified the driver as 27-year-old Aaron Washington of East McKeesport.

Sources tell KDKA's Heather Abraham that police spent Thursday morning investigating whether the people involved in the accident may have also possibly been involved in the shooting.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting.

Meanwhile, Allegheny County homicide detectives were working with McKeesport police in collecting additional evidence throughout the morning, which included looking into whether surveillance cameras captured the shooting.

So far, no arrests have been made.

But the investigation continues.
