MERCER (KDKA) — Police are searching for the driver of a car that slammed into the front of a Sheetz in Mercer County overnight.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. at the gas station and convenience store on Erie and North Diamond Streets in Mercer.

According to authorities, the driver fled the scene after the vehicle crashed into the business.

One person was injured in the accident. Officials say the employee working inside had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment after being hit either by the car or by some debris.

There has been no updates so far on that person’s condition.

There is also no word on if there were any customers in the business at the time of the crash.

The investigation continues.
