Missing Penn State Student Found At Local Hospital

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) - There are a lot of questions surrounding the sudden reappearance of a local Penn State University student who had gone missing.

Chad Evanuik, 19, turned up at a local hospital last night after being missing for nearly a week.

The mystery surrounding Evanuik's disappearance began on Feb, 21. The young man was last seen leaving his home in Frazer heading to classes at Penn State New Kensington.

He and his Dodge Avenger seemed to vanish.

His terrified parents and Frazier Police did their best to find the young man.

Then, a possible break in the case emerged from New Kensington. Evanuik's bank card was traced first to Arkansas, where it was used, then to the north in Missouri.

At this time it is unknown if Evanuik was driving around the Midwest, or if the cards were stolen from him.

Prayers were answered Tuesday night when a disoriented Evanuik walked into Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Initially, he gave nurses a wrong name, but an attending nurse recognized the young man and alerted police.

Investigators said Evanuik had little idea where he had been or what had happened.

Hospital officials say the young man was in stable condition.
