Save A Lot Burglars Cut Through Roof

EAST HUNTINGDON (KDKA) – State police say they have some roof cutters on the loose in Westmoreland County.

Two grocery stores in East Huntingdon have been hit since December.

Around 1:30 Saturday morning two men wearing camouflage jackets and ski masks made their way onto the roof of the Save a Lot and went to work cutting the roof with an electric saw. Once inside, they tried unsuccessfully to get into the safe.

Police have reviewed surveillance video of the burglary and are hoping to release it soon.

In December, burglars also cut through the roof of the nearby County Market grocery store.

State police are asking people in the area to keep an eye out for unusual activity.

If you have any information about the burglaries, you are encouraged to contact state police in Greensburg.
