'Highly Unlikely' Armored Truck Suspect Left U.S.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police Commander Thomas Stangrecki says they do not believe the suspect in the $2 million armored truck heist got on any airplane flights.

He also says based on information, they believe it's "highly unlikely" that 22-year-old Kenneth Konias Jr. had crossed any borders.

In the criminal complaint, Konias allegedly was asking someone listed as a witness about the extradition laws of Canada and Mexico.

Konias is accused of killing his partner, 31-year-old Michael Haines and stealing more than $2 million from the GARDA armored truck that they drive.

Haines was found shot in the back of the head inside the truck which was found in the Strip District.

Police say the case is a top priority.
