Shaler McDonald's Suspects Possibly Involved In Other Robberies

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Three suspects in the robbery of the Shaler McDonald's were taken into custody within 12 hours.

Louis Rice, 23, was arrested inside the restaurant. He later identified his alleged cohorts during interrogation.

"And through that investigation we identified the other two actors in this case," Shaler Police Chief Jeff Gally said.

Police say Rice, Gerald Davis and Keith Fields entered the McDonald's with guns blazing. According to the report, Fields fired a shot into the ceiling just before they took $2,300.

Police now suspect they may have been involved in other recent restaurant robberies.

"The M.O. is the thing that still makes it look like they could have been active somewhere before," Chief Gally said.

Police from seven departments in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties are taking a close look at the suspects.

Recently, robbers fired a shot after stealing money from Primanti Bros. in North Versailles.

The police departments are comparing notes.

Rice, Davis and Fields face charges of robbery, aggravated assault and terroristic threats. Police are expected to file dozens of additional charges in the coming days.
