Crosby Will Not Play Against Boston

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Sidney Crosby will not be in the lineup when the Pittsburgh Penguins look to extend their winning streak to nine games Sunday afternoon.

Crosby announced that he would not play against the Boston Bruins after the Penguins' practice at Southpointe Saturday morning.

He said he had not suffered a setback and was not experiencing symptoms.

After Sunday's game, the Penguins will be off until Thursday when they go on the road to take on the New York Rangers.

Crosby is hoping to get more contact in practices over the next couple of days, but did not give any indication one way or the other about his status for Thursday's game.

Also, defenseman Deryk Engelland, who has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, is not likely to play against the Bruins.
