Man Dies After Bethel Park Domestic Incident

BETHEL PARK (KDKA) - A 20-year-old Bethel Park man died at St. Clair Hospital, after police rescued him from his burning home.

Bethel Park Police Chief John Mackey told KDKA-TV that police received a call at 10:28 a.m. Wednesday from a distraught woman at 2619 Milford Drive, saying that her son had a knife and she couldn't get into his locked bedroom.

Police were on the scene with two minutes and after breaking in a door they pulled the man to safety, and gave him CPR on the front lawn while awaiting an ambulance.

Police said there was smoke coming from the home when they pulled up and they called firefighters. The medical examiner identified the dead man as 20-year-old Joshua Lapaglia, who lived at the home with his mother.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating the exact cause. The fire damage was confined to a back bedroom.
