East Liverpool Fire Victims Remembered At Vigil
EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (KDKA) -- Hundreds of people came out to remember a father and his three sons who were killed in a fire in East Liverpool, Ohio.
Last Sunday, authorities identified the victims as 37-year-old Ulrick Estimot and his three sons, 11-year-old Trey, 7-year-old Terrell and 5-year-old Trenton.
The fire was ruled arson.
At the vigil, friends and neighbors lit candles in remembrance.
Trey played youth football. His teammates couldn't hold back their tears and his coach couldn't hold back his grief.
"Dropped to my knees and cried like a baby," Ricky Davis said. "It was terrible. Such a great kid."
Chris Bell was a neighbor of the victims.
"Shocked – it was unbelievable," he said.
Near the end of the ceremony, children released balloons to the heavens. They said Trey, the oldest of the boys, made the biggest impression on friends.
"He was great at everything," Olivia Christian, a neighbor, said. "He's like one of those [people] that you thought – who could survive and do anything."
The ceremony concluded with Trey's mother accepting his youth football jersey.
