Detectives Heading To California Over Western Psych Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - New details are emerging after a deadly shooting at Western Psych earlier this month.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, two homicide detectives from Pittsburgh are now heading to California to talk with a doctor who may have tried to warn a UPMC doctor about John Shick.
Shick reportedly complained to the California doctor about his medical care here.
Apparently, it took on a more menacing tone and that is when the California doctor e-mailed Shick's doctor at UPMC.
The Post-Gazette said the detectives heading out west will determine if that e-mail constituted a warning, and if so, what the hospital system did with the information.
District Attorney Stephen Zappala is holding a news conference today to update the latest on the case.
