2 Suspects Arrested In Spring Garden

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police arrested two men who were casing a North Side neighborhood.

According to police, neighbors called 911 after seeing a white van and a blue car stopping in front of businesses along Spring Garden Avenue just before 1 a.m. Monday.

When Pittsburgh police arrived, they saw 27-year-old Darnell Peak and 21-year-old Evan Ezell running from the parking lot of Waltmire Pharmacy.

Police say the telephone wires on the roof of the pharmacy were cut. Investigators also found a red bag full of burglary tools.

The white van was stolen last Thursday from Benton Avenue in Brighton Heights. It was registered to someone in Cranberry.

Both of the suspects were taken into custody. They are facing several charges, including receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy and possessing instruments of crime.
