Silver Lining Hard To Find For Pens Fans In 3-0 Hole

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – After another embarrassing effort in Game 3, the Pittsburgh Penguins find themselves one more loss from being swept by their cross-state rivals.

The Penguins have allowed a total of 20 goals in three games and there doesn't appear to be much hope for a miraculous comeback.

It has happened in the past. Most recently, the Flyers overcame a 3-0 series deficit against the Boston Bruins in 2010.

Through it all, Penguins fans are concerned and have every reason to be, but is there a silver lining?

What about in goal with Marc-Andre Fleury?

"Some of the shots he should have been able to save," one fan said.

How about the defensive game?

"Defense? We got all the offense in the world but no defense. It kind of reminds me of the Capitals three years ago," one man said.

What about leadership and composure? There did not seem to be much of either yesterday.

"Absolutely and it started with Crosby. So, the team follows their captain so once that happened, it kind of went downhill after that," a fan said.

Is it possible the Flyers are just better?

"This year, absolutely. We're being owned by rookies," a fan said.

So the question remains, what can be done to save the Penguins?

"I think you're going to have to suit Mario Lemieux up to pull this thing out," one man said.

The chances of the Penguins pulling off a comeback are slim, but some chance is better than none at all.

Game 4 is Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
