Bucs: Karstens Placed On DL
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed starting pitcher Jeff Karstens on the 15-day disabled list after lasting just one inning in his start Tuesday night at Arizona.
Karstens left the game with shoulder inflammation in his throwing shoulder. He gave up two runs on three hits in one inning of work.
In turn, the Pirates have recalled starting pitcher Brad Lincoln from Triple-A Indianapolis. He is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts with the Indians.
Lincoln's first start appears to be Tuesday against Colorado at PNC Park.
