Local Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 2 Girls
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A local father is accused of sexually assaulting two little girls.
The suspect is 53-year-old Roland McFarland.
Two girls took the stand to testify against him in court Thursday. One of the girls, now 12 years old, says four years ago, McFarland took her to his bed while she was at a sleepover with his daughter.
She says he held her against her will, undressed her, touched her and made her touch him.
A second girl, now 16, says McFarland tried similar behavior with her. She was 12 at the time. He allegedly touched her on the breast, but then she got away.
The witnesses say it all happened at a home in Carnegie. The girl who was 8 when she was assaulted said McFarland fondled her on at least 10 to 15 occasions.
It was difficult for the girls to testify. One of the girls sobbed through her testimony.
McFarland had his head down through the testimony.
McFarland's attorney tried to get him released on electronic monitoring. The judge refused.
He remains in jail on $150,000 bond.
