PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Gateway High School fullback Jaymar Parrish committed to play football for Paul Chryst and the Pitt Panthers Monday.

He is the fifth player to commit to Chryst’s 2013 class.

Parrish — 6-foot-2, 225 pounds — isn’t nationally ranked at his position by Scout.com. He caught 22 passes for 524 yards and four touchdowns in his junior year at Gateway.

Defensively, Parrish compiled 68 tackles, seven sacks and one interception.

Parrish had an offer from Akron. Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA and West Virginia also had interest, according to Scout.com.
