Family Worried For Missing Shaler Teen's Safety

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A local family is worried for the safety of a teenager who has been missing for more than a week.

Police started looking for 15-year-old Ryann Tillman after her father noticed her missing when he went to wake her up for school last week.

The family said that initially, they thought Tillman ran away. However, they now fear she's in trouble after they said she made a terrifying phone call to a friend.

Her picture has been plastered everywhere since she went missing on May 7.

"I went to wake her up for school and she was gone," her father, Jonathan Tillman, said.

There was concern that she ran off with someone, but now there's a greater worry that she is being held against her will after a friend received a phone call Friday from Ryann, who was crying and scared.

"She said she wanted to come home. She didn't know where she was at or who she was with and they wouldn't let her leave," Jonathan Tillman said. "She called again and said she was [going to] try to get away from those people when they went to sleep. And then that was it. That was the last anyone heard from her. All contact ceased."

Ryann's father said that call was traced back to Wilkinsburg, but so far, she has not been located. Meanwhile, there is an enormous effort on Facebook through a page called "Missing Cases."

Thousands have shared her picture and information.

Jonathan Tillman just hopes she comes home safe.

"I don't care what happened, what the situation is. We just want her home," he said.

The family is now considering possibly offering a reward of some kind. If you have any information on Ryann's whereabouts you're asked to call police.
