Man Falls Over Cliff At McConnells Mill State Park
SLIPPERY ROCK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A man is in the hospital after he fell over a cliff at McConnells Mill State Park.
At about 2 p.m., a young couple from the area was hiking. They were hiking on trail below a bridge when the man had some sort of a medical condition and a result, lost his balance and fell.
"The male experienced a fall – a 25-foot fall at the Kildoo Falls and sustained head injuries on impact," Assistant Park Manager Jake Weiland said.
Rescuers arrived quickly and found him on rocks. The man was airlifted to a UPMC hospital in Pittsburgh.
"In speaking with the patient upon arrival, he was very reactive, very alert, very lucky for the condition that he is in."
He suffered cuts to his face and a broken wrist.
