Work crews have filled the wave pool, and beach chairs have been trundled into place. The weekend forecast paints a profitable picture for the 60-acre water park overlooking the Monongahela.
The 15th, and newest, water slide has a little twist, or spin, at the end of the ride. The Dragon’s Den is slated to open when the park goes full time on June 9th.
General Manager Damian Dondero says the experience begins when rafters enter a 45-foot tube.READ MORE: State Police In Kittanning Searching For Arson Suspect Following Reported Domestic Incident
“It’s our new attraction. It’s the first new slide that we’ve had in over 10 years. What’s unique about it is you have a normal slide down the slide, but before you get to the end there’s a bowl element which will allow you to swirl around a couple times.”
Meanwhile, a dragon sculpture growls and sprays mist through its nose. Breathing fire at a water park wouldn’t really cut it.
