Water Main Break Leaves Large Crack In Evergreen Road
ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A water main break created a big mess Saturday in Ross Township.
The break sent water down a hillside along Evergreen Road. The force of the water was so strong that it ruptured a gas line.
Some nearby homes were evacuated.
"My daughter woke up to what she said was a waterfall and ran outside and saw the back of her car had water shooting up underneath it; she moved the car. It's been an evolving process all day, and now we have a hillside collapsing," said Tim Day, a neighbor.
The break also put a crack into the road.
Part of the street remains closed until crews can repair the damage. There's no word on a timetable when that will be complete.
