Man Accused Of Shooting Uncle In Rostraver

ROSTRAVER (KDKA) -- Police say an argument between relatives led to a shooting in Westmoreland County.

Keyonta McIntyre, 19, is charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault in the shooting of 24-year-old Adonte Rainey near the Rostraver Apartments.

"It appears that they are related," Rostraver Police Chief Greg Resetar said. "To my understanding, it would be an uncle and a nephew."

Rostraver Police and Westmoreland County detectives spent the day at the intersection of Mathew Road and Peach Avenue where the shooting happened.

They say Rainey was shot once in the chest and his abdomen was grazed. He drove himself to a nearby Exxon station where he had just bought some cigarettes about 15 minutes before the shooting.

"One of my employees inside – actually both of them – had noticed that he looked strange on the outside and they noticed that he had been shot," Jody Ramey, the owner of the Exxon station, said.

The employees called 911 and helped Rainey.

Police believe the shooting may have started over a woman.

Rainey was flown to Allegheny General Hospital where he had surgery Thursday afternoon.
