Pharmacy Raided In Fayette County
REPUBLIC (KDKA) -- A Fayette County pharmacy owner was arrested after an eight-month investigation into the alleged sale of narcotics.
Edward Wilcox, 62, owns Redstone Pharmacy in Republic. Members of the Fayette County Drug Task Force hauled boxes of paperwork and computers from the store.
"The person that is in charge and is licensed by the state and trusted by the state to properly regulate the sale of drugs to the appropriate individuals based on prescriptions that they received from medical personnel," Fayette County District Attorney Jack Heneks said.
"That that person then turns around and is engaged in the illegal sale of those drugs directly to people who do not have prescriptions and are scheduled three and four [controlled] substance – that is disturbing."
Wilcox is free on $120,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing next week.
