When it comes to safety, there is a list of vehicles you may want to avoid.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety just released its most dangerous vehicles for 2012.

Topping the list was the Dodge Ram 1500, which received low marks in frontal, side-impact and rear-impact tests in addition to a poor rollover rating.

Number two on the list was the Chevy Colorado Crew Cab.

Third was Mazda’s CX-7, which got poor rollover and rear-impact grades.

Fourth was Mazda’s CX-9, which was followed by the Nissan Pathfinder.
