Man Shot, Killed Overnight In McKees Rocks
McKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot overnight in McKees Rocks.
Authorities say they found the victim inside of a vehicle in the 900-block White Alley near Island Avenue around 2 a.m.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 19-year-old Scott King of Verona.
According to Allegheny County Police, he was found in the driver's seat of the vehicle. He had been shot in the upper torso.
People nearby say they heard multiple gunshots.
"I was going to the corner; I heard two gunshots," said Jared Pratt, a witness. "I came down and I [saw] a bunch of cop cars come by. And then I heard two more gunshots."
Investigators say they believe a robbery may have prompted the shooting.
Police say "it appears as if he was shot from outside of the car," which drifted into a nearby fence after the shooting.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
