Police Probe String Of Burglaries In Lawrenceville

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are investigating a series of burglaries in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh.

According to investigators, the burglaries started earlier this month and happen during the overnight hours between 9:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.

In four of the cases, police say the residents have been in the home asleep while the burglary happened.

Authorities say the suspect is getting into the home through unlocked front windows.

While no residents have come into contact with the person or people responsible for the incidents, police are offering some safety tips for residents in the area.

Those tips include:

  • Staying Vigilant
  • Securing doors and windows
  • Keeping outside lights on
  • And calling 911 to report any suspicious activity

Police say vehicles have been taken in three of the cases, and electronics were stolen in another case.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Pittsburgh Police Burglary Squad at 412-323-7155.
