4-1-Zoo: Clairton's Titus Howard Commits To Pitt

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Clairton High School cornerback Titus Howard gave a verbal commitment to play for Pitt Sunday afternoon.

He made the announcement at Pitt's 7-on-7 camp, where Clairton beat Thomas Jefferson, 25-20.

Howard is 6-foot-3, 180 pounds and is rated a 3-star recruit by Scout.com and a 2-star recruit by Rivals.com.

Howard had other offers from UConn and Toledo. He is the fourth WPIAL player to commit to Pitt's 2013 class, and he said he's interested in getting Clairton teammate Tyler Boyd (wide receiver) to commit to Pitt as well, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

"I am going to try to get him there," Howard said.

Howard added, "I like (Pitt's) program. I love being around the coaches. Coach (Paul) Chryst was really excited. He said he can't wait."
