Post-Gazette's Rorabaugh Lauds Shero's Moves
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - With the NHL Draft over the weekend, plenty of drama unfolded here in Pittsburgh. The Fan Morning Show talked to the Post-Gazette's Seth Rorabaugh to sort it all out.
Seth is impressed with what Ray Shero did with Jordan Staal, saying that he definitely got enough in return for a star center.
Brandon Sutter is the only NHL-ready player, but Seth tells us that we may be underestimating his abilities. Sutter was an alternate captain on Carolina at 23-years-old, and is a perfect fit for the Penguins' third line center vacancy.
Zybnek Michalek was moved back to Phoenix for prospects in a deal that freed up a lot of cap space. Many think the extra cash will be used to lure a big-time free agent like Zach Parise or Ryan Suter.
Seth says that the Penguins are on a short list of teams that would be able to lure one of these players, but other teams like Minnesota and Detroit are attractive situations.
