2 Dead In Separate Westmoreland County Crashes

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- Two men are dead after separate one-vehicle crashes in Westmoreland County.

The first crash happened just after 7 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Radebaugh Road and Detroit Street in Hempfield Township.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 59-year-old Larry Washington of Greensburg.

According to the Coroner's Office, Washington suffered blunt force trauma to the neck, chest and abdomen.

Investigators say Washington's pickup truck was traveling east on Radebaugh Road when it crossed the center line, went off the road and into a yard and then hit a fence and parked car. The truck then got back onto the road, but then went over an embankment and slammed into a utility pole.

Washington was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene just before 8 p.m.

The other accident happened just before 2:30 a.m. at Mahaffey Hill Road in North Huntingdon Township. The Coroner's Office identifies the victim of that crash as 36-year-old Eric Alcott.

North Huntingdon Township police are investigating the one-vehicle crash.

Officials say Alcott was pronounced dead at the scene around 3:45 a.m., and an autopsy has been scheduled for Saturday.
