Teenager Accused Of Shooting 7-Year-Old Boy In Fayette Co.

REDSTONE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police are looking for a 16-year-old wanted in the shooting of a 7-year-old boy.

They say a group of male juveniles was horsing around in the woods of the Hunter's Ridge Housing Complex in Redstone Township, Fayette County.

Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Christopher Neal says 16 year-old Deago Lee Eddings got angry and pulled a handgun out of his backpack.

Neal says Eddings shot the 7-year-old boy in the chest.

The victim's family told KDKA's David Highfield Tuesday night that the boy is in critical condition.

Police say Eddings was last seen wearing black shorts and black and red sneakers. They also say he still had the handgun when he left the scene.

Police say Eddings will be charged as an adult and face a charge of attempted homicide.

Anyone with information about Eddings is asked to call the Belle Vernon barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police.
