4-1-Zoo: Two Panthers Named To National Watch Lists

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pitt senior safety Jarred Holley and junior defensive tackle Aaron Donald were both named to national watch lists Thursday.

Holley was named to the pre-season watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is awarded to the best defensive player in the nation each season.

Holley will start for the fourth consecutive season in 2012-13. He had 67 tackles last year (five for loss) and two sacks while breaking up three passes, intercepting one ball and forcing one fumble in 13 games.

Donald was named to the Outland Trophy watch list, which is awarded to the nation's top interior defensive lineman each year.

Donald had 47 tackles last season (16 for loss) and 11 sacks, ranking seventh nationally in sacks per game (0.85). He also forced 11 quarterback hurries and forced a fumble.
