Penguins Re-Sign Prospects Sneep, Veilleux

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins announced the signings of defenseman Carl Sneep and forward Keven Veilleux Wednesday.

Both players were signed to two-way contracts worth $525,000 at the NHL level.

Sneep, 24, made his NHL debut last season, notching an assist. He had 10 assists in 40 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

Sneep was the Penguins second-round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Veilleux, 23, has 14 goals and 25 assists for 39 points in 75 career AHL games. He missed the entire 2011-12 season with a knee injury.

Veilleux was Pittsburgh's second-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Both players are currently participating in the Penguins prospect camp at Consol Energy Center this week.
