PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pitt defensive back Jarred Holley was named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list, awarded annually to the nation’s best defensive back.

It’s the second watch list Holley has been selected for, as he was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list as well.

Holley has started for three years at Pitt and had a solid year in 2011-12. Last season, he had 67 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass breakups, one interception and one fumble.

Holley is one of 35 players named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list.
