4-1-Zoo: Ray Graham Named To Doak Walker Watch Award List

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pitt running back Ray Graham was named to the Doak Walker Award watch list Thursday, awarded to the nation's top running back.

Graham is one of 52 candidates on the initial list.

His season was cut short last season because of a knee injury, but before he was injured he was arguably the best running back in the country. Graham was second in the nation and first in the Big East in rushing, averaging 134.14 yards a game.

Graham finished the season with 958 yards and nine touchdowns on 164 carries (5.8-yard average).

This is the second pre-season watch list Graham has been named to, as he was also selected on the Maxwell Award watch list, which is awarded to the country's outstanding collegiate football player.

Graham enters his final season at Pitt 10th on the program's all-time rushing list with 2,229 yards.
