2 Separate Shootings Leave 1 Dead, 1 Injured

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) - Police are investigating two early Wednesday morning shootings that left one man dead and another injured.

According to police, the first shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. in Homestead.

A man said he was sitting in his car on Mifflin Street when bullets started to hit his vehicle.

He was able to drive himself to UPMC Mercy Hospital to receive treatment. Initially he believed he had been shot, but he was actually hit by shards of broken glass when the bullets hit his windows.

The other shooting happened in Wilkinsburg around 2:30 a.m. in the 500-block of Coal Street.

Circumstances of the shooting have not been released, but one man has been pronounced dead.

His has been identified as 35-year-old Brandon Jones Sr.

No arrests have been made in either case at this time.
