Local Business Will Participate In Breast Feeding World Record

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- It's World Breastfeeding Week, a time for world awareness on the importance of breastfeeding.

This week, which started on Aug. 1, comes at a time when more and more hospitals are recommending against baby formula, like Magee Womens' Hospital here in Pittsburgh.

As part of this year's World Breastfeeding Week, a world record attempt of the most women breastfeeding at the same time will occur this weekend. Called "The Big Latch On," moms will need to go to an official location and breastfeed for one minute at same time other women across the world are also feeding.

This year, Pittsburghers can participate at "A Mother's Boutique" in Wexford, Pa.

KDKA AM's Larry Richert and John Shumway talk to "A Mother's Boutique" owner Judy Masucci about The Big Latch On, and why breastfeeding is so important to a baby's development.
