Steelers Night Practice An All-Day Affair

LATROBE (KDKA) -- The Steelers' annual night practice is one of the most anticipated events during training camp and this year there's more reason for excitement.

It's become the first annual Latrobe Steelers Fest and Night Practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium.

Fans come from all over to get autographs.

"This is one of America's greatest small towns and to have one of America's greatest franchises – sports franchises come every year, it's a great honor," Alex Graziani, Latrobe City Manager, said.

The Steelers Fest starts at 11 a.m. Friday.

"We're going to have the Steelers Experience – components of that with fans can test their running, passing and kicking skills," Jarod Trunzo, Latrobe Event Manager, said.

There will be games for kids, face painters, food and a rock-climbing wall behind the visitors bleachers at the stadium.

The Great Hall trailer will also be there.

"And this is a massive 100-foot long trailer. It's just been refurbished, has a bunch of rare memorabilia, fans can play games, win some memorabilia back themselves, but see some really nice iconic, rare, Hall of Fame items that the Steelers have that it's the only chance you get to see it," Trunzo said.

Stadium gates will open at 5 p.m. The scrimmage starts at 7 p.m. and after that there will be fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Fans are asked to bring a canned good to donate to the Westmoreland County Food Bank.
