Man Allegedly Used Puppy To Lure Bell Acres Child

BELL ACRES (KDKA) -- Police continue to search for a man who reportedly used a puppy to lure a child.

A 10-year-old boy told police he was fishing in Little Sewickley Creek in Bell Acres when a man parked his car, walked over and put his hand on the boy's shoulder.

"He reports to us that gentleman drove by, turned around when he saw him, got out of the car, approached him, put his hand on his shoulder and asked him if he would come see a puppy in his backseat of his car," Bell Acres Police Chief Brian Brown said.

The boy said he didn't want to see it.

"He backed away from the suspect," Brown said. "At time there were some other vehicles coming by. The person got in his vehicle and sped away. "

Police are warning parents in the Sewickley area to always keep an eye on their children.

"We have to watch out for not only ours, but everyone else's children, know where they're at and keep an eye out," he said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-to-late 40's with a thin build, shoulder-length light brown to blond hair. He was driving a four-door sedan with a rusted dent on the front passenger side.
