Fans Buzzing After Pirates' 19 Inning Win Over Cardinals

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - It took more than six hours and it was the longest game in baseball this year, but in the end, the Pittsburgh Pirates ended up with another one in the win column after Sunday's game against St. Louis.

The Pirates ended up winning 6-3 in 19 innings and it has many fans talking.

Pedro Alvarez's home run in the top of the 19th inning helped push the Pirates to victory and it's a far cry from a 19-inning loss last summer in Atlanta.

When it comes to Pirates baseball this summer everyone seems to have an opinion.

There is no shortage of passion when it comes to the city's professional baseball team.

Fan Morning Show co-host Gregg Giannotti understands.

"There's Pirates fans that have been around for ages, been waiting since 1979 to see another championship, been waiting since 1992 to see another winning season and this could be it," Gregg Giannotti said.

The Pirates won't have long to celebrate their marathon win as they're back in action tonight in San Diego.
