Munhall Shooting Leaves 1 Man Dead

MUNHALL (KDKA) -Police are investigating after one man was killed in a vehicle in Munhall early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened around 1 a.m. in the 400-block of East 10th Avenue.

Multiple calls to 911 were received for shots being fired. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a young man slumped over in the driver's seat of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The vehicle was still in gear and had crashed into another vehicle.

Police rendered medical aid and rushed him to a local hospital, where he later died.

"What we know is one person, maybe more, fled the area on foot. We're asking anybody who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to call the Allegheny County Homicide Unit at (412)-471-1300," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Shurman said.

Neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said they saw the passenger door wide open before police arrived, leading them to believe that suspect fired the shots while in the car.

No arrests have been made and the victim's name has not been released at this time.
