Kidnapping Suspect's Ex-Boyfriend Held Baby Downtown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The ex-boyfriend of a 19-year-old who kidnapped a newborn from Magee-Womens Hospital says he was fooled by the suspect as well.

Saevon Josey wondered why the receptionist at the hospital had no record of Breona Moore giving birth.

"He couldn't find her name or anything and I was like, 'Uh… you can't find her?'" he said.

"And he was like, 'No, no, it's not in the computer at all,' so I'm thinking, 'What is going on?'"

Moore told Josey she was admitted Monday and was going to have a C-section Thursday.

Just after 1 p.m. Thursday, she told him she would meet him with his newborn son Downtown near the Investment Building.

"I met her up there at the building," Josey said. "I seen the baby – the stolen baby – I'm holding him like it's my baby. I'm taking pictures – all that – putting it on Facebook – all that. I'm all embarrassed. People walking up the street, 'Oh the baby's so cute!' Thank you."

"I'm holding the baby, strolling him around downtown, I'm like, 'It's mine,'" he continued. "Had no clue."

Shortly after that, Josey wanted leave to go eat – not long before she was arrested.

"She got mad, she just left," Josey said. "And I guess that's when she got caught. I'm thinking, 'What if I was with her?'"

"I'm pushing the stroller, they probably would have thought I was all the way with it," he said. "I feel so bad for the family that she did that to. My apologies go out to them."
