Neighbors Shocked By Woman's Arrest In Alleged Abduction

McKEESPORT (KDKA) -- Additional information is being learned today about the woman charged in the alleged abduction of an infant from Magee-Womens Hospital.

According to a neighbor who did not what to be identified, 19-year-old Breona Moore lived alone in an apartment on Union Avenue in McKeesport. She had just moved in less than a month ago.

Neighbors say Moore told them she was pregnant with a boy.

On Tuesday, Moore told the same neighbors she had had a baby, but was not able to bring him home from the hospital because he was premature.

One neighbor, who did not want to show her face on camera, said she was excited herself to welcome a new baby to the building.

"She just didn't seem like the type of person that would do that," the neighbor said. "She would just sit in there; she was sweet. She looked innocent, and all she just worried about was having her baby. I was excited for her, too. I was more excited than probably she was to have a new baby in to the building because I have grandkids too, and I don't get a chance to see them."

The neighbor went on to say she even went out and bought baby clothing for Moore as a gift.

"She's by herself," the neighbor said. "I figure if I see some stuff for the baby, I'll pick it up for her."

Neighbors say they had no reason to doubt her story. And they too, now wonder why.

"What drove this kid to do this? I mean, you know she is a kid, having a kid all alone, why would she do this?" the neighbor added.

Moore is facing kidnapping charges in the incident.
